The Teen Center is a great place for busy parents because:
- We are open every day after school from 2:15 pm to 6:00 pm
- On early release days we open at 11:00 am and when there is no school due to teacher workshops we are open 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm
- We are open daily on school vacations and in the summer from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm
- We see about 85 - 100 kids a day with about 95% of them being middle schoolers
- We provide adult supervision in each area of the building (art room, game room, computer center, kitchen, lounge and multi-purpose room) as well as outdoor areas which includes the parking lot (complete with a basketball hoop and four square court), deck and skatepark
- We welcome each member by name, take messages from parents, make a phone available to youth to call parents at home or at work
The Teen Center is a great place for busy youth because:
- We provide a free snack every day
- We provide a place to hang out between school and sports practice and games
- We provide music lessons and practice sessions
- We offer daily programs and activities in arts & crafts, music, cooking, games, tutoring, etc.
- We have the Starfire Skatepark in our backyard
Financial Support
A nonprofit organization, the Teen Center depends on fundraising events, grants, town funding, and private and corporate donations to keep membership and programs available and free of charge. We're committed to remaining a trusted community partner, and a vital and ever-growing resource for all our young people for many years to come.
